overload, you’ll appreciate this post.
If you can’t stand the thought of a post
that isn’t about Christmas at this time of year,
Sorry!
Instead I’m talking trash.
The kind of trash where
something really *should* have ended up
in the trash can, but somehow
made its way into your hands instead.
And your hands can transform
trash into terrific.
For instance, do you know
what this used to be?
I brought home a galvanized pail from the auction house
and it was filled with stuff, that at first glance,
looked like serious trash.
In it was the filter.
I was ready to throw it away, but all
the pierced holes got my attention.
I love the glow of candlelight through
pierced metal, so it wasn’t
getting anywhere near my trash can.
Instead, I removed the cloth filter
from the metal to see what I could do with it.
I added some old lace,
a sweet antique postage stamp and a vintage key.
Then I paired it with a wooden pedestal I had painted.
I love that glow!
In a moment of stupidity,
I threw away the cloth filter!
Then I realized it had some potential too –
as a cup cozy.
or a candle holder cover
It just needed a little lace and an old button.

I was going to ask what you did with the cool cloth filter. Glad you found a use for it. Love what you did with the metal piece.
I was going to ask also what you did with the liner also! Great idea and you saved something that would ended up in a land fill someplace and made it beautiful!! and honestly I might be one of the few that are growing tired of all Christmas posts!
Excellent! Great vision and creativity. Your trash looks wonderful after your handiwork. Merry Christmas!
See, I like trash too…but my husband throws it away before I can even see it…what a bummer!
Your candle is great…love how the light goes through it!
Coming by to let you know that you will be featured at NIFTY THRIFTY TUESDAY on Monday…please feel free to grab my starfish featured button for your blog and thank you for coming to my party last week.

Sharon
We dumpster-diving divas really know how to turn trash into treasure, don’t we? lol And I’m so glad you kept the cloth part of the filter, Angie. It has loads of character.
Thanks for linking your creativity to Time Travel Thursday each week.
Happy New Year!

Love it! Whoever would have thought to do that! You’re so very creative. So glad you saved the filter and made that into something terrific, too. I’m visiting from Sarahndipities party ~ Mary
