Repurposed Headboard Chalkboard

I bought 2 sets of bed headboards and foot boards about 6 months ago, all for $1 at an auction.

I wasn’t sure what I’d do with them, but I loved the shape of the headboards, and the posts were pretty cool too, so I knew I’d eventually do something with them.

As usual, in the middle of the night I decided one of them had to become a chalkboard. No, it couldn’t wait until morning…it had to be done at 3:30 am.

Repurposed Headboard Chalkboard

My parents are arriving for a visit today, so I thought I’d make a welcome sign to greet them out in my yard.  Unfortunately, it rained all night and continues to drizzle on and off today, so the message may be washed off before they arrive.  Sure wish I had a covered porch to put it on, but I hope to use it in my house as part
of our next remodeling project in progress.

Repurposed Headboard into Chalkboard

I’m am p.a.t.h.e.t.i.c. in the art of chalkboard drawing, and it was the middle of the night, so stencils came to my rescue to put “welcome” on it. I added a feeble attempt of embellishment at the top.

I tried!  Hope they feel welcome all the same!

Blessings,

Angie
