Apple Inspired Chair Makeover

If you reach back in your memory bank, you may recall a sweet little chair that I gave a makeover last year.  I really did love it, but the other day I started craving some apple inspired color in my house, so I made over that sweet little chair again!  That’s the nice thing about paint – you can change your mind on a whim and have a whole new look in no time.

The color I choose is called “bandana”.  It’s chalk based paint from the Vintage Storehouse.  It’s a gorgeous red that’s bright, but has a beautiful matte finish that looks old-fashioned.

I lean toward whites and more muted colors, but I plan to start bringing in more pops of color like red – I just love how cheerful the little chair looks now!

  1. I love the chair in red. Next on my list is to paint my dining chairs and I think red will be the color. So pretty for fall.

I couldn’t find the red striped towels in your shop.

My front door needed to look a little more inviting so I suggested we paint it red. I have an old milk can that was from my Aunties farm in Saskatchewan, Alberta so I brought it back on the plane with me! Then my husband found the cutest little chair and both also got painted red. There was an old smaller picnic table that was left behind before the house got torn down next door so of course that got hauled home. A friend had made long benches to put his flower pots on so they were donated to us.Guess what color they became? Flowers were planted all around the table area and it is very cozy and almost private.
My husband made some bird houses and nailed them to some posts and now there are bird feeders attached, painted all different colors. We have had lots of comments from passers by how much they like our yard. One couple out for a walk even asked if they could come in the yard and take a photo. How cool is that! None of these items cost us any money and now they have a nice bright red home.By the way my favorite color is red.

  4. Love, love, LOVE the little red chair, baskets of apples and towels! Perfection for the fall season.

  5. Thank you for sharing your chair re-do with that fantastic shade of red! It’s not too bright or cheeky. It is a lovely warm, cozy and inviting red shade. What is not to love? But, in all fairness… once you start using touches of warm reds in your kitchen … it becomes addicting. But, it is a healthy and inviting addiction that leads to long contentment with this hue. Nice job and great choice!

  7. So hard to get a true red paint … love this.

  8. There’s not much cuter than a little red chair. Maybe a little red chair with apples on it. That is a beautiful red.

  9. I am experiencing trouble with the pay now button. Very interested in the black stripe towel. Love the red chair.

  10. I so much enjoy this blog & idea’s she comes up with Thanks’ again….

  11. Angie, your little chair looks absolutely dazzling and so very welcoming…it’s the type of chair that begs to be noticed…one that deserves to be placed somewhere at the front of your home where it can draw everybody in! And it’s such a perfect makeover for fall and, dare I say it, the upcoming holiday season, too! I’ve always loved red…I think it’s because my mother collected Coca-Cola memorabilia…the red you used for your chair is not too far off of Coca-Cola red. I really love this colour and will be checking into it!

The towels are really beautiful, too…they are great as is and I can also imagine them sporting some of your wonderful stencil designs, as well…what fabulous gifts they would make! Gosh, now I want some…you have to stop selling such amazing things! 🙂

  12. I love this color…looks like you had the apples color matched at the paint store, lol. Cute towels!!

  13. That really is a stunning color Angie – matches the apples on the pretty chair perfectly. Need me some of this paint!
