Christmas Entryway Welcome Home Tour

Hello everyone!   I’ve been a busy bee, and can’t wait to show you my Christmas entryway!

I don’t decorate my entire house for every season and holiday.  It’s just too much work, but I did want the entryway to look welcoming and festive.

The entryway remodel is almost finished, and it’s down to deciding what to do about the floor, but my husband built me a wall hutch that I couldn’t wait to decorate for the holidays.

It has 3 tall vertical shelves and 1 upper horizontal shelf.

Directly above the hutch is pull-down stairs that leads to our attic.  We rarely go up there, but the hutch needed to be removable, so it hangs on keyhole hangers, rather than being attached to the wall.  I could also use it like a traditional hutch, by setting it on a counter or table.

On the top shelf, I’m displaying a few of my ironstone pitchers with greenery tucked between them.

Red vintage books and an antique pair of glasses  make a reading vignette on one of the shelves.

I have a growing collection of vintage measuring tin cups, which I hung above the center shelf. The adorable antique ice wagon toy was give to me from my father-in-law.

My decorating theme this season is “simple farmhouse”, so I chose some very simple things, like a tarnished old kitchen grater, filled with greenery, and a little red gingham bow added to it.

The three hooks came off a really old coat rack that was hanging in this room when we bought the house.

There’s a very narrow section of wall next to the hutch, where I hung the red and white pallet shelf I just finished.

Hanging beneath it are a few handmade ornaments I finished this year.

As you walk in our front door, the hutch is a focal point, so it will be fun to give the Christmas entryway a new the look once the holidays are over.  I’m already thinking of how I’ll decorate it with a winter theme in January! 🙂

  1. Your hubby did a fantastic job on the wall hutch and you must be very pleased to have that extra bit of space to put things! I sooooo LOVE how you’ve styled your entryway, too…it looks crisp, clean, and jolly! Sometimes people go a bit overboard when they are decorating for Christmas, I think…but you’ve kept it simple and subtle and it’s an absolute knockout!

  2. Love your beautiful yet simple touches for the season. So beautiful and inviting! Yes, I totally understand not decorating for every season. The older I get the less I put out each year.

  3. This is very pretty, Angie…and a great way to use the space!
