Weekending | Five That Will Make You Laugh, Cry, & Wanna DIY

It’s cold and windy outside today, so I holed up in the house all day packing up stencil orders. When I was sick of looking at packing tape and cardboard boxes, I treated myself to some web surfing and movie watching time. Working on the computer for much of the day doesn’t allow me much time to just play around, so it was a welcome break. Fresh Fruit and Flowers Centerpiece Here are five things I came across that made {Read More}

Weekending: 100 Screw Holes Later and Fall Window Box Update

I did something really dumb, and now I have to pay for it. If you do the crime, you must do the time, as they say. Believe me, I regret my crime and wish I had been smarter. My crime?  It was putting screw holes into the wood walls in my kitchen. Not just a few holes.  I made loads of them. Every time I showed you a photo like this … or this … or this … I put more holes {Read More}

This week has been a Longgggg one. Seriously. My teenage son got his first real job, which is a huge “hip hurray,” but he doesn’t have his driver’s license yet.  So you know what that means?

If I asked you to name one piece of decor in your home that not only looks great, but is functional as well, what would your answer be?  #1 on my list has to be totes. They are hard-working and can be used in any room in the house, from the bathroom, to the kitchen, to the craft room – even the garage. You can buy vintage totes, upcycle a thrift store tote, or make them from scratch. My favorite {Read More}

Five on Friday

Woohoo – it’s Friday!  I’m especially happy about it, because today my husband and I are celebrating our 27th anniversary, so we’re going on a little overnight getaway – it’ll be short… and cheap, but I’m looking forward to it. For our 25th anniversary, we splurged a little and stayed at a really nice hotel…      This won’t be that kind of getaway.      Think Super 8

Year in Review: 2015 Best of Knick of Time

2015 has been an amazing  and busy year!  It’s time to look at the year in review and look back at all the projects I finished and discover which ones were reader favorites, according to the  number of page views recorded in Google Analytics.

Weekending – Hand Lettering and Sketching

I have a serious crush on hand lettering and sketching, and am in awe of those who are gifted with such talent. This is a public domain studio book of hand lettering that has over 250 pages.  If you love hand letterering, it’s a must see! The lettering and fall theme of this lettered page on paper is so pretty in this autumn vignette via Vibeke Design. I discovered an online shop, called Hand Lettering Company. They have an amazing line of {Read More}

When a Dictionary is Useless

This post was sponsored by Perfect Linens. As if my lousy eyesight and crackling knees didn’t remind me on a daily basis that I’m getting older, my oldest son drove that point home for me today. We were riding in the car and he commented how much he liked the pair of jeans he was wearing. “They’re really comfortable,  like jeggings- except they’re for guys.” he elaborated.
