Glowing Mason Jar Luminaries DIY Christmas Tote

When I was a little girl, one of my favorite things to do at Christmas time was to lie underneath the Christmas tree and stare up at the glowing colored lights. Nine times out of ten, I’d drift off to sleep lying there, while visions of kiss cookies and Christmas presents danced in my head. I’m too big to get under the tree now, so I came up with two easier ways to enjoy Christmas lights around the house. Remember {Read More}

Christmas Stockings Old Wooden Ladder Hanger

I must be listening to the wrong radio stations, because I’ve barely heard any Christmas music this week. Hello …      It is December, right? I thought it would be fun to have our own family Christmas family sing-along. It sounded like great fun to me so I led off singing “We Need a Little Christmas,” but when I got to the “candles in the window and carols at the spinet” part, I looked around and realized my family had {Read More}

Hot Chocolate Recipe DIY Chalkboard and Cocoa Bar

My family has been craving hot cocoa, but rather than buy packs at the grocery store, or the even more expensive version from Starbucks, I decided to display a homemade hot chocolate recipe on a pallet frame chalkboard. I plan to make a batch of the homemade mix for each of my kids and attach the recipe card to it. Homemade Christmas Gifts & Decor

My blog has been a bit quiet the past week, because I decided to take the week off and just enjoy spending time with my family. My oldest son’s fiance flew in to be with us, and my middle son came home from college with his soon-to-be fiance.  Every space around my new farmhouse table was filled, and that’s just the way I {Read More}

Woodland Christmas Guest Room Tour

I’m going to test your literary knowledge today, okay? I’m going to quote a paragraph from a book, and you see if you can tell me what book it’s from. It’s a classic, so I think most of you will know it. Here we go …

Ornament Palooza | Christmas in High Gear

Halloween 2016 is down in the books, Thanksgiving is up next, and Christmas will be here before you know it.  So I thought we could look back at each ornament made by 31 different bloggers, including myself in October. I have lots of Christmas projects and decor planned, so I’ve got to get busy working on them all.  I plan to share them throughout November, so you have plenty of time to make any that inspire you. This is my {Read More}

Wagon Wheel Farmhouse Christmas Candle Chandelier

I’ve got an upcycled wagon wheel project to show you today.  But first can I whine a little? Yesterday was one of those no good, very bad, everything-seemed-to-go-wrong days. It started out great. The sun was shining, the weather was warm, and I woke up raring to get to work …               … and then I slammed my finger in a door.
