Farmhouse White Kitchen Wall Storage Shelves

You would never guess by looking at my white kitchen that there was a time when the last color I would have chosen to paint it was white. White walls reminded me of every apartment I’d ever lived in, where every single room was white, and I didn’t have any choice in the matter.

Guest House Refresh Because Company Is Coming

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc., and its advertiser.  All opinions are mine alone. #BigLotsHome#CollectiveBias I freak out a little when I  have a house guest coming. Actually, I freak out a lot. I know they come to see us, and not our house, but I want our guests to feel welcome, be comfortable, and not wish they had booked a hotel room instead of staying with us. 🙂 My oldest son’s girlfriend is arriving for a visit {Read More}

Pallet Project for Small Space Storage + Sale!!

I wasn’t really in the mood to do any organizing, but there’s a rebellion going on in the barn door cabinet in my entryway, and I was in the middle of it. I use the cabinet to hold paint supplies, but the cabinet could only hold so many containers, and I had crossed that line.

When There’s Trouble in the Chicken Coop

A few days ago, I was working in my she – shed, and I heard a loud squawking coming from the chicken coop. If you aren’t a chicken owner, let me give you a crash course in Chickenese. Of course, roosters crow, and they’ll do it any time of the day. From a distance, crowing sounds quaint.  When it’s outside your bedroom window, you start planning a chicken dinner. We don’t have any roosters, because we don’t plan to hatch eggs. {Read More}

Pegboard Kitchen Command Center Organizer

Last month I wrote a guest post for My Repurposed Life, showing my kitchen wall that I added a pegboard to.  For that post, I styled the pegboard as a kitchen organizer.  As much as I love it, I have other spots in my kitchen for the tools, but I use this area as a small home office nook, so what I really need is a kind of command center – a place to hang a calendar, and keep pens, notepads, and other things I {Read More}

Flatware Carrier That Looks Like an Old Crate!

We don’t have a Costco where I live, so when I get the chance to shop at one, I’m like a kid in a toy store.  I want to taste all the samples, I want to stockpile commercial size containers of minced onions, and I get sucked in by cool things I don’t see in my local stores. Normally I resist the urge, because I’m either traveling by train with limited luggage, or I’m traveling with my family, and there’s no extra {Read More}

Clutter Clean Up and a Coffee Station

Hey there, everyone!  During down time between our morning Christmas festivities yesterday, and going to the movie theater in the afternoon, I kicked back, relaxed, and caught up on reading all of the blog comments you all have left in the last few weeks.  November and December are such busy months, that I didn’t get to read every comment, and I thoroughly enjoyed catching up on them.  Thank you all so much for taking the time to leave them.  I do read each {Read More}

Santa Claus Coat Rack with Country Living & Hometalk

When Santa Claus, gets home from his long night’s ride around the world, he was lacking a place to hang his coat and hat.   Since the jolly old guy loved the Classic Christmas Books Stocking Hanger than I made last year, I knew he’d love a coat rack made of red and white  books, ‘cuz he’s a red and white kind of fella! 🙂

DIY Pantry Storage and Decor Ideas

I had no idea when mice invaded my pantry and I turned popcorn tins into chalkboard pantry tins, that so many other people had the same problem, and would like my idea, but when Hometalk featured it on their Facebook page, it went crazy!  So much so, that Hometalk asked me to curate a Pantry Storage Hacks board, and I was happy to do so.  I loaded the board with the best pantry storage and decor ideas, and can’t wait to try {Read More}

Clementine Crate Makeover

I love projects that don’t cost me a cent, are easy, and end up being so pretty, I’m left wondering why I didn’t make them a long time ago.  This is one of those projects!  I’ve had this clementine crate for over 3 years now.  It was filled with fruit, which I used when I was styling my kitchen for the photos in my kitchen remodel post (seen HERE).  It was torture for my kids not to eat the fruit {Read More}
