Little Spring Tool Tote

It’s our first spring in our new home, and I was thrilled to see how many spring bulbs are coming in that the former owner planted.  There are lots of daffodils and some bulbs that haven’t bloomed yet, so I’m not sure what they are.  I’ve only seen 1 hyacinth plant, but the plant is in an area where it can’t be noticed or appreciated much, so I decided to cut the stalk and bring it indoors where we could enjoy the blooms.  In {Read More}

Antique Graphics Wednesday – Compass & Caliper Images

It’s Wednesday, so that means it’s time for more antique images.  The 3 compass images come from an antique geography textbook. The caliper image comes from a 1925 dictionary.  These would be great for steampunk projects.  The complete dictionary is available at Knick of Time on Etsy, if you’d like to have a complete antique dictionary. For more antique graphics, click on the tab at the top of the page, labeled “Antique Graphics to Print”. If you use any of my images, I’d {Read More}

Pressed Between the Pages of Time

Antique books are a treasure in and of themselves, but it’s always an extra treat when you find bits and pieces of mementos tucked inside the pages, preserved through the years. This book came home with me from the auction last week.  It was published in 1886.    Aren’t the fonts on the title page pretty? I was flipping through the pages, when I stumbled upon a little note written to “Ella” in 1890.  It was a very short little {Read More}

WooHoo – A Special Shout Out

Visiting some of my favorite blogs tonight, it was a real treat to find that my Ladies Room had been featured by WhisperWood Cottage for their Talent Scouting Party for Cottages & Bungalows Magazine.   The theme for this talent scouting party was, “Flea Market Transformations”, so the actual photo I linked up from my Ladies Room was of my cast iron spigot that I repurposed as a faucet.  If you are new here, you can read about the transformation {Read More}

Junk Glass Framed Photos

Old photo frames are plentiful in thrift stores, so I always keep my eye out for frames with nice details that I think would sell well, if painted and distressed.  One thing I’ve discovered is that frames seem to sell better without the glass.  I have no idea why!  If you search “photo frames” on Etsy, you’ll see loads of painted frames grouped together, without the glass.  I’ve sold many sets myself like that and I’m always glad not to {Read More}

We’re getting fabulous weather here in Illinois, and after our recent rain, the grass in our yard is turning green.  It’s a welcome splash of color while waiting for the trees to get their leaves and the wildflowers to start blooming.The home improvement centers don’t have many flowers out yet, but I found these pretty little potted flowers at Walmart and brought them home so I could bring a little springtime indoors. I’m so glad God created flowers.They are just a bunch of happy, in a {Read More}
