Knick of Time Tuesday #84

Welcome back to Knick of Time Tuesday! There are only a few rules to this party, and I hate deleting links, so please take note:  I had a terrible time picking features from last week’s party, because there were truly so many I loved, but here are just a few! Deb @ Lake Girl Paints, shows us how she painted these beautiful images on rustic wood.   Mimi’s Vintage Charm shared this gorgeous made over empire dresser. With a Grateful {Read More}

Relique Inspired – Shaving Brush on Stand

We’re finishing up the remodel of the restroom for the men in our home, and I plan to give it a bit of a old barber shop look.   Some time ago, I saw a set of 3 vintage shaving brushes on stands that Relique sells for $129.  I like the concept of the brush on a stand and I’ve had one antique shaving brush for several years, which I thought would make an appropriate addition to the bathroom.  I had {Read More}

Sonday – {Look for Me at the Gate} Antique Hymn Page Printable

Blessings, Angie View Verse of the Day Due to unethical websites stealing content, I can no longer provide a full RSS feed. I work too hard to produce original and inspiring content to have it stolen by others. Antique Ceiling Tiles Cabinet Doors

The curtains I made from on old canvas bag for under my kitchen sink were getting kind of grungy looking.  Too many wet, and dirty hands had pushed them aside to get into the cabinet. Rather than constantly needing to wash them, I decided I wanted to go back to a regular cabinet door, but I think I must have used the original cabinet doors on some other project, because we couldn’t find them.  Instead, my handy husband made me {Read More}

‘Til the Cows Come Home

Thank God I’m a country girl. I’m a die-hard John Denver fan, and a die-hard fan of living in the country. Each evening, this is the view that greats us from outside our front door. I enjoy watching their evening trek across the field, to eat up what’s left behind from when the corn was harvested in the fall. I have never seen anyone open the gate to let them through, or noticed when they cross back over into the {Read More}

Antique Graphics Wednesday – 1900’s Beauty & Bath Products Advertisements

(click on these images to view full size) Here are several images from advertisements for beauty products, from a 1913 The Modern Priscilla magazine.  I always like ads that showed what the packaging looked like.  This pretty image looks like a woman primping in front of her mirror, but in fact, it was an advertisement for soap that prevented “blemishes”…pimples!  I did some editing, to remove the pimple from her face!Here’s the original ad (with pimple!). I absolutely love this {Read More}

Antique Graphics Wednesday – Pretty Border and Embellishment

This pretty nature border was from the title page of “The Girl from Limberlost”, published by Grosset & Dunlap in 1909. (click on these images to view full size) Here is the page from the book. Here’s another pretty embellishment that came from the cover of some antique sheet music. Please let me know if you use any of the antique graphics I share on a project – I’d love to brag about you!  Don’t forget to save them to {Read More}

Sonday – {Higher Ground} Antique Hymn Page Printable

I’ve always liked this old hymn, but it took on new meaning for my family, and especially our animals last week. Heavy rains brought flooding to our area.  We woke up on Thursday morning discover that the little creek behind our property had overflowed, flooding our pasture…where our 2 horses were. For our larger Quarter Horse, it wasn’t too bad, but for our little miniature horse (seen in the distance), it was up to her belly in some places.  Thankfully, {Read More}
