I’m a little ga-ga over the image I have to share with you today. I’m really not a Francophile. I do like most things French, and love their sense of style, but it’s a little fancier than my own style tends to be.
With that said, I think the French language – both verbal and written is beautiful (too bad I was so awful at it in high school), so I was thrilled to get this amazing 141 year old document (which may be a letter, but I’m not sure). I was able to make out a few words, and asked my sister (who did much better at French than I did) if she could translate it, but as it’s hand-written, it’s a little hard to make out the words. It is simply beautiful – whether you understand the words or not.

I’ve lightened the tone of the letter in this image.
From what I could determine researching online, this seal is a Spanish seal, so the letter appears to be written in French, but mailed from Spain…just guessing though.
This final image has the background of the paper removed, so the lovely script writing can be layered over other backgrounds. Tomorrow, I’ll show you what I did with this image. I’m just as ga-ga over the project!
Blessings,
Angie
