Farmhouse Flowers Printables

It’s been rainy, cold and dreary here in the Midwest, and since it’s too wet to do anything outside, I brainstormed what project I could work on indoors, and  I remembered some farmhouse style photos I took last year, and realized I had a really easy project I could make with them. Magnolia Market Style Farmhouse Serving Plank

As much as I’d love to visit  Magnolia Market, I don’t see that happening in the near future, but I did some online “window  shopping” and spotted a few things I love. One of them is their Farmhouse Serving Plank. I love that it can be used to serve food, but can also be used as a table centerpiece. It’s actually similar to the rustic table centerpiece I made  and used in the autumn (seen here) and at Christmas (seen {Read More}

Gifts for Mother’s Day, Picket Fence Herb Planter + More: Talk of the Town #17

Mother’s Day is right around the corner, and as I was looking at the features for Talk of the Town this week, I realized that all of them would make great gifts and are more creative than off the shelf gifts! What mom wouldn’t love a picket fence herb planter that doubles as a message center, a bottle carrier filled with blooming bottles, a tiered bird feeder, or a furniture makeover? I know I would! Milk bottle cap spools would look {Read More}

Painting, Pallet Wood and a Farmhouse Accent Table

Have you ever had something that was just begging for a makeover, but you needed some time to decide whether it needed painting, or decoupaging, or glittering? So you thought, and thought, and thought about it…      for two years? Please tell me you sometimes have to think that long too. Well, this is the story of a little table that finally got the makeover it waited two whole years to get.

Fresh Flowers, Spring Chickens, Placemat + Pillow

No, no, NO!   That’s the answer I’ve given my kids every time they ask if they can get another animal. When my kids were little, I was all in favor of having lots of animals, so each one of them got their own dog, my daughter also got 2 horses and a cat, and another cat adopted us that we kept (you can see him here). But now that they are older, my rule is that they are welcome {Read More}

Tea Kettle on a Tea Kettle … What??

My mom has a cast iron tea kettle that I was admiring at her house, and have been hoping I might find a similar one, but something lucky happened, so I got one (sort of), but didn’t have to buy it. Clear as mud, right? Let me explain…

Talk of the Town #16 + Facebook Promotion!

Hey bloggers, I have an exciting Talk of the Town announcement!  This week when you share this party on Facebook, and leave a comment with the link to your Facebook page, I will share YOUR link on my Facebook page! Update a Thrift Shop Flower Pot + Failed Plans

All winter I had sworn off going to thrift stores, so I could make some progress on the things I already have, but the last few weeks I’ve been binge shopping.  It started pretty innocently when I found this flower pot that I knew could look pretty once I gave it a painted update.  It was the only purchase I made that day, but I made the mistake of returning another day and brought home BAGS full of stuff that {Read More}

2 Easy Projects: Kitchen Wall Art + Wall Hooks

It’s the weekend, and I always like to work on really easy projects that can be squeezed in between our weekend activities, so I have two easy projects for you that can both be made in under an hour! 2 Easy Projects: Kitchen Wall Art + Wall Hooks

Five on Friday

Woohoo – it’s Friday!  I’m especially happy about it, because today my husband and I are celebrating our 27th anniversary, so we’re going on a little overnight getaway – it’ll be short… and cheap, but I’m looking forward to it. For our 25th anniversary, we splurged a little and stayed at a really nice hotel…      This won’t be that kind of getaway.      Think Super 8
