I made three trips to the garden center this week.
I think I heard the employees laughing. I straightened my shoulders, threw back my hair, and ignored them whispering, ” Isn’t she the crazy plant killer lady?”
“You’d think she’d give up and show some mercy on the poor plants.”
If I’m anything, I’m an eternal optimist when it comes to flowers and plants.
Someday I just know I’ll keep something alive for more than two weeks. I just know it.
Or, I really am just a crazy plant killer. 🙂
In other weekend random news …
The rope on my old-fashioned wooden swing broke, so I’m off to buy more rope today.
Even if it means showing my face at Lowe’s and risking being spotted by the garden center employees.
Remember the antique flower packet printables I shared HERE and HERE?
One of my readers named Summer used them to make an adorable burlap pennant banner.
She was also inspired by my grain sack wall pockets on barn wood and made some of her own.
So, what’s blooming at your house?
This week my purple irises bloomed, and my peonies are getting ready to open. Both flowers are short-lived as cut flowers, but I still cut a few to enjoy indoors while they last.
And I planted some geraniums in a hanging flower pot. I’ll be spending the rest of the weekend planting more flowers in other repurposed containers. You’ll see those soon!
And in other random farmhouse news …
Why did my chickens cross the road?
Answer – because chickens are just dumb like that. They don’t need a reason! 🙂
Happy weekend!
