Farmhouse Style Ikea DIY Towel | 15 Days of Chalking, Part 4

Farmhouse Style Ikea DIY Towel A few months ago, I went to Ikea with my sister, son, and niece.  Any day is a good one when you get to go to Ikea.  Am I right? Anyway, one of the things I purchased was a set of four Elly dish towels.  I’m kicking myself that I didn’t buy a few more sets. That’s not the point though.  I digress, as always. I put them aside so no one would get stains all {Read More}

Easy DIY Fall Chalkboard Sign: Chalking Series,Part 3

Easy DIY Fall Chalkboard Sign: Chalking Series, Part 3 Here we are in Part 3 of my chalking series and I made an easy DIY fall chalkboard sign. Actually, I made two different kinds – one on a chalkboard and one on a canvas. After my last project’s near disaster, I invited my husband to chalk with me.  How fun! It’s a Scripture sign based on 1 Thessalonians 5:18. It’s perfect for Thanksgiving, but the verse is appropriate year-round. The {Read More}

Mountains Are Calling DIY Chalkboard | Chalking Series Part 2

Mountains Are Calling DIY Chalkboard This isn’t so much a project as it is a story. Let me start by saying I’m not usually a raving lunatic. Usually. My son was at the theater with a friend.  My husband had just gone to bed (he goes to work crazy early in the morning). So I decided to go into my workshop and make a chalkboard. My husband and I talked about adding a door between my craft space (formerly my guest house) and my connected junkshop.  That would give me a ton of space. {Read More}

Halloween Treat Bags DIY Creator Bundle Today I’m beginning a new series that will either be a really bad decision or a great one.  So, we’ll just see! I’m calling it 15 Days of Chalking. My motivation for the series was that with every Chalk Couture project I make, I learn something.  So doing it more consistently should help make me a much better chalker. Whether or not you like chalking, I hope you’ll enjoy the projects and learn something with {Read More}

Talk of the Town #139

Happy Tuesday everyone! I’m really excited!  My  youngest and I are going to visit the Gateway Arch in St Louis tomorrow.  The last time I was there was when my daughter was 10 and I took her for her birthday.  But my son has never been there before.  The museum has been newly remodeled with six themed interactive exhibit areas. We’re also going to watch a documentary movie, ride the tram to the top of the arch, and hopefully take {Read More}

Fall Farmhouse Decor: Chalk Couture Vintage Truck
