Easy DIY Signs and Pennant Banner Ideas
I love living in the country, but sometimes it gets kind of lonely.
Since my husband was gone all week, rather than just binge-watch shows on Netflix or talk to our dog, I decided to do something more constructive.
Instead, I’ve been working like crazy to fill my Etsy shop with new signs and some vintage items.
This post is loaded with projects and images, so I’ve divided it in two parts.
First up is a Farmhouse Kitchen hanging pallet sign.
It’s available in my Etsy shop HERE with free shipping.
*Affiliate links are included to help you find the items I used.
Supplies used were an inexpensive pallet plank sign with rope hanger, craft paint, plus a few elements of the Farmhouse Kitchen transfer and black chalk paste.
The rope hanger could be removed and another design put on the other side.
Then it would be perfect for a tiered stand.
Pro Tip – Use acrylic or chalk paint and a baby wipe for painting, instead of a paint brush.
Just put the paint on the wipe or surface and wipe all around.
One light coat will allow wood grain to show through.
Two coats should give total coverage.
Just throw the wipe away when finished. No paint brushes to clean, which I hate doing!
After I finished that sign, I moved on to a fall sign on another painted pallet plank using the same technique.
This time a pumpkin patch sign. It’s that time of year!
It’s available HERE, also with free shipping.
It was made with a retired transfer, but you could totally use this stencil to make a similar one.
The next project is a Scripture pennant banner.
The banner came from Hobby Lobby and I used two transfers to create it.
The Walk by Faith transfer.
And the Off the Grid transfer using Black Ink.
This banner is available HERE.
Then I moved on to a few winter and Christmas signs.
Hi Angie! Is there a stencil for the Ice Skate sign? I decorate with ice skates, sleds and snowmen and this would be perfect to add to my decor! Thanks!
Yes, It’s a reusable adhesive transfer. You just need the transfer, chalk paste and a squeegee. Here’s the link: https://www.chalkcouture.com/knickoftime/product/B194203
You have to use either our chalk paste or ink with the transfers. Paint ruins them.
Let me know if you have any more questions. I’d be happy to help.

Everything looks great! If only I could just do that all day everyday, darn job gets in the way lol
I wish you could too Kim!
What kind of sealant do you use to make things permanent? And also, do you use it on all your projects or not?
If it’s for indoor use and won’t get wet, I don’t seal. But when I sell my products I use this sealer – https://amzn.to/2XlfGRH
