On the Workbench and In the Shop

As usual, it’s been a busy week, with lots of projects occupying my kitchen table.  I’m SO ready for spring, so I can get back out to work in my workshop, so our kitchen table and counters aren’t always covered with my projects, but since it isn’t yet February, I guess my table will be a mess for awhile longer.

I love turning glass cheese domes into display cloches.  Frequently, I just repaint the bases and sell them like that, but occasionally, I like to add something more.  For this cloche,  I used my French Letter (shared here) and transferred it to the base, (as shown here).
I think the French words make such a pretty backdrop for displaying small items.  Sorry, it has SOLD.

My husband and I have been working on a LOT of new tiered stands to list in the shop, and this is one of my favorites.

We used an antique Swan’s Down Cake Pan for the lower tier and an antique bundt pan for the upper tier.   Sorry, it has SOLD.

This one is a big one, and has lots of storage space.  It was made from 3 enamelware mixing bowls.  I love the cheerful yellow color.  It’s available here.

I’m not positive, but I believe these 2 pieces were candy dishes.  I found the pair in a thrift store last week.

The detail on them is gorgeous.   They were made by the Wilcox Silver Plate Company, which was a division of the International Silver company.  They are available here.

I’m not sure what kind of food mold this was, because it isn’t very large, but it is just beautiful.  It has really pretty patina and a rope shape border.  Sorry, it has SOLD.

I’ve brought home a bunch of antique books in the last week, so I’ve been putting together more book stacks for the shop.  This set is listed here.

Fridays are always hectically busy days, but I hope to finish up a few projects I have in the works to share with you next week.  Thanks so much to all of you that left sweet comments about my Grain Sack Chair yesterday, both here on the blog and on Facebook.  I makes me happy to know others love how it turned out as much as I did!

Have you used one of my antique images on a project you created, or were you inspired by one of my projects to create your own?  Are you one of my customers and want to share a photo of my products in your home?  If so, please share!  My new feature READER SUBMISSIONS will showcase you!  Use this link to share:

  1. Everything looks fabulous, it’s not surprising some have sold already!
    Debbie 🙂

  2. Your cheese cloche and tiered stands are great..a beautiful way to re-purpose them. The pair of silver plate” candle” holders are so pretty!!!

  3. Love those candy dishes! Your photos are lovely, Angie. 🙂

  4. Your items and the way you present them always make me smile. Your appreciation for the beauty hidden under the patina, the paint, the whatever is a talent being lost as too many prefer the brand new and then just toss it away when it no longer suits them. I am guessing you hate Malls?

  5. Love the special addition of the French graphic, it’s the little things that make such a big difference. Those enamelware mixing bowls are wonderful!

  7. You are so creative! Wow! I’m pinning away! Thank you for sharing. Love this!
