Farmer’s Market Farmhouse Style Decor | 3 Easy Projects 

Before getting full-time jobs, all three of my sons spent their summers earning money selling fresh produce at our local farmer’s market.

It turned them into produce “snobs” because they saw firsthand the difference between produce that’s been picked in other states, boxed up and shipped to the local store, and produce that was freshly picked from a farm in our community.

My country boy dad grew a large garden when I was growing up, so I spent my summers weeding, picking, shelling and selling some of our crops at our roadside stand.

My sister and I got to keep the money from what we sold, but she was more patient and was willing to sell longer to make more money.  I’d make a few dollars and take off to play.  Remember, I’m the baby of the family. 🙂

So, after my weeding, picking, shelling and selling garden childhood, you’d think I’d love vegetables, but I’ve got to admit, I am a total carnivore.

With the exception of corn on the cob (which I adore), I’d rather drink veggie juice than actually eat veggies.

Just say the word “beets” and I might run screaming.

But I still love farmer’s markets.  How can you not?

I love seeing all the colorful produce, fresh flowers, and handmade soap, and I buy the produce because my veggie-loving family appreciates it.

So this week I worked on three farmer’s market farmhouse style decor projects, all made with the Farmer’s Market stencil – the newest stencil in my Vintage Sign Stencil line.

Farmer’s Market Farmhouse Style Decor Project #1 – Upcycled Vintage Crate

This project couldn’t have been easier.  I just taped the stencil in place and painted.  No building, no prep, and quick clean-up.  In five minutes it was done!

Farmer’s Market Farmhouse Style Decor Project #2 – Farmer’s Market Kitchen Tote

This project is more involved, because you have to build the tote first (the tutorial is HERE), unless you buy a ready-made one, but the stenciling part only took about 10 minutes.

If it wasn’t for the tick that climbed up my leg, I would have parked my behind on this rocker and read magazines all day.  The sun was shining, the birds were chirping, and everything looks beautiful in my yard right now.
