You like rustic Christmas projects right?
I hope so, because I have a cute and easy one for you today! 🙂
I have a ladder hanging in my living room wall, right behind where our Christmas tree is, and it was the perfect spot for a small
Rustic Christmas “Believe” sign
Would you like to make your own?
Well, let’s get started!
You can make this in less than an hour.
Supplies Needed:
~ Small piece of pallet wood
~Red chalky paint (I used Vintage Store House Bandana Red chalky paint)
~White spray paint
~Sander or sand paper
~ Drill
~ Twine
Instructions:
~ Cut a piece of pallet wood to your desired length. I cut my piece 9″ long.
~ Stain it with dark wood stain. Allow the stain to dry, then paint a coat of red over it, and allow that to dry. Use a blow dryer to speed up the process.
Distress the surface with a sander to reveal some of the stained wood and raw wood beneath the paint.
I used tung oil to seal and protect it, but you could use furniture wax also.
~Spray paint the believe word white, and allow it to dry.
~ Attach word to the wood with E6000 or hot glue.
~ Drill holes on each side of the wood, and insert twine from the back to the front of each hole, and tie a knot on the ends in the front.
That’s it – your little rustic Christmas sign is done!
The ladder makes a great place to hang blankets too – perfect for snuggling up on the couch and sipping hot chocolate!
Be sure and come back bright and early tomorrow morning to see my entryway decked out for Christmas. I’m participating in the Welcome Home for Christmas Tour with some other awesome bloggers, who are all sharing their homes and projects as well. This will be the 3rd and final day of the tour.

Adorable! I love the old wood with the red 🙂 Tung oil or hemp oil look beautiful as a sealer 🙂
Thanks so much, Susan! Merry Christmas!
This is just soooooo precious…I love the rustic quality of it and the white against that deep red just pops! Love the message of your sign, too! 🙂
Thanks Susan – I’m addicted to that color red – it just looks awesome on anything!
Sooo cute!
Oh, me, too! And, to me, it wouldn’t really be Christmas without lots of red, but I’d be tempted to find a place I could keep a sweet, little sign like this all year round! 🙂
Where did you get the word “Believe” for the project?
Judy, I bought it at Hobby Lobby.
