Every year I have the same dream.  I dream that I’m going to create all kinds of cute and amazing fall crafts and do lots of cozy decorating throughout my home.  And in my dream it is all done by the first week of fall so we can enjoy it through the whole season.

… And then I wake up.

I wanted to cry last week when the farmer came through with his big combine and harvested all the corn in the field right across the road from me.  I wanted to run out and ask him if I could pretty please have some stalks to make a pretty standing corn shock to stand by our front door.

But I didn’t.  I didn’t want to risk getting tetanus trying to jump the barbed wire fence into his field.

October’s almost over, and even though I have bought some mini pumpkins and decorated my entryway for fall, I still don’t have a big pumpkin anywhere in sight and the rest of my house needs a serious autumn kick in the pants.
