I could find lots of projects to use this birch paper ribbon on.
So tell me, if you were a tree climber in your childhood, have you ever climbed a birch tree?

Never climbed a birch tree, Angie! Only climbed one or two trees when I was a kid. Wasn’t as adventurous as I am now. But I do love trees and it breaks my heart when I see one cut down. My neighbor had a beautiful maple tree planted near our lot lines. A couple years ago he decided to have it cut down because “it was getting too big”! What? That is what trees do, get big. And give lots of shade. I was sick over it. I told the tree that it was going to happen and that it should let it’s soul rise up and out of the tree and it would be okay. Silly, maybe, but I tho’t the tree ought to know.
The birches are especially lovely trees. In our neighborhood a birch tree was planted in almost every front yard when the houses were built. This was in the sixties and most of them didn’t survive. There are several that are quite large now and seemingly healthy, but I’ve heard or read that they are a bit finicky to grow. The bark was used for writing by early peoples and it’s nice that it is being appreciated again.
I’ve never climbed a birch, but I grew up climbing trees just like you. Recently, I told my kids I could still do it and climbed the tree in our backyard (I’m 53)! I had to have a little help coming down.?
I have 3 river birch trees in my yard and they are my favorite of all trees! These items are lovely!!
