Meat Market Farmhouse Kitchen Sign
Today I have two new stencils to introduce in my line of Vintage Sign Stencils and one of them is a freebie (see details below).
During the winter, I couldn’t wait for spring to arrive, so I bought some beautiful spring flowers and made a kitchen sign to hang above my stove. Now that spring has finally arrived, I’ve been busy working outdoors. But the weather the last few days has been rainy, so I decided to make a new sign for my kitchen.
That’s the beauty of making your own signs. If you have wood, paint, a stencil, and a brush, you can change out your decor on a whim.
Everyone who knows me knows I only recognize three food groups – meat, potatoes, and bread … in that order.
So for my new farmhouse kitchen sign, I decided to focus on the meat group with a meat market sign and pig-stenciled vintage cutting board.
I worked on the sign and cutting board at night, so I didn’t take any photos, but both were very simple projects.
How to Make a Meat Market Farmhouse Kitchen Sign & Pig Cutting Board
Supplies Used:
pine board
white paint & black paint
chip brush & stencil brush
painter’s tape (to mask off the border area)
wood stain
Instructions:
For the meat market sign, I cut a pine board measuring 23″ x 9-1/2″ and painted it white.
Once it dried, I stenciled the words with black paint and added the border.
For the pig cutting board, I stained a vintage cutting board and stenciled the pig on it with black paint.
The Meat Market stencil measures about 16″ wide x 6-1/2″ tall.
You can use it as is or make a longer sign by stenciling the word “market” after “meat.”
Purchase the Meat Market stencil HERE.
The Small Pig stencil measures about 5-1/2″ x 3″ and is the perfect size for a cutting board or small sign.
The Large Pig stencil measures about 12″ x 6-1/2″ and is the perfect size for pillows and large signs.

Now for the Free Stencil deal!
Both stencils are available in my shop individually, but for my blog readers only, the small pig stencil will be free with the purchase of the Meat Market stencil until May 5th. Purchase the Meat Market stencil HERE, and when you check out write “FREE PIG STENCIL” in the note area and you’ll automatically receive the small pig stencil free.
