Needs, Wants, Unique Finds, Great Photography Tips & Best Easy Recipe
Whew! That was a mouthful, but it’s fitting because I have a smorgasbord of things to share today.
I don’t usually go out of town three weekends in a row, but my husband and I are celebrating our 28th anniversary tomorrow, so we decided to get away for a few days. We’re not doing anything fancy – just enjoying a few days of continental breakfast and maid service, which I could totally get used to. 🙂
In the meantime, I thought I’d share some of my favorite finds I’ve come across recently. Some are needs that I’ve been specifically looking for; others are just things I love. I’ve also got a great website for those who want to improve their photography, and a wonderful recipe I recently made. I rarely share recipes, so you know I loved this one.
Some of the links below are affiliate links to help you find the products I’ve included below. They are highlighted in bold blue text.
Be still my heart … this locker style cabinet is a want, not a need, but I could make a good argument for all the spaces I could use it in. Use the discount code FRIENDS to save 20%.

At 25 cents each (pack of 48), these adorable mason jar recipe cards are an affordable little splurge.

I’ve been looking for a new door mat for our main house and guest house, and I love happy text on this one!

We have an old hamper in our laundry room that needs to be replaced, and I found this vintage style wire laundry hamper from Pottery Barn. It’s a bit pricey, but I love it. The 20% off discount code FRIENDS makes it more affordable, and shipping is free.

This map is one of the most original things I’ve seen lately. It starts out looking like a very cool map printed on kraft paper, but when you scratch the surface, a watercolor version of the map appears. I am totally getting this for my son and his fiancé! I think they’ll both love it.

This rustic galvanized desk organizer is another want, but I can think of lots of ways to use it too.

I’m shopping around for a storage bench for our entryway. I’m not crazy about laminate wood, but the price is great, and it ships free and has good reviews, so I plan to get it. It comes with the cushion too, which makes it an even better deal. I don’t like the fabric drawers, so I’ll look for baskets to fit it instead.

I stumbled across a website loaded with photography tips that are so user friendly I had to share it. It’s called “Moose’s Camera Tips.”
He has a YouTube channel with video tutorials on photography, and has a monthly photo challenge with prizes on Instagram. All of those things are free, but he also offers very inexpensive “Cheat Cards” which I purchased.
Cheat cards are available for both Nikon and Canon and a bunch of different types of lenses.
You can view them on your laptop, phone or iPad, but I got mine printed out and laminated so I could just tuck them in my camera bag.
You’ll find links to all his social media channels and info about the cheat cards on his website HERE.
The delicious recipe I tried is Rosemary Parmesan Chicken by Ann @ On Sutton Place. I don’t love to cook, but it was so easy and tasty, I’ll be making it often.
Well, I hope you enjoyed this smorgasbord.
Have a blessed Easter!

The watercolor scratch map is such a cool idea. And, I think it would make a cute present for my daughter and her fiance! haha! Thanks for the tip!
