Favorite Finds & Movie Recommendations: June Edition

I got good feedback last month when I shared my favorite finds and movie recommendations, so I decided to do it again this month.

Let’s start off with some farmhouse style pillows that are super inexpensive.

I own this Vintage Poultry Feed Sack Pillow Cover, and at under $5.50, including shipping, it’s a steal.

I have this Farm Fresh Eggs pillow cover in my cart and will be buying it soon!  I’ll be honest, it doesn’t have top reviews.  But for under $4.75, including shipping, I figure I don’t have much to lose.

Next up is this Just One More Chapter Pillow Cover.  What book lover wouldn’t want this?

Next, I have a music recommendation.

For King and Country: Proof of Your Love

If you aren’t familiar with For King and Country, it’s a brother duo from Australia who are siblings to the well-known Christian singer Rebecca St. James (more about her below).  My daughter has attended many For King and Country concerts in several different locations, and the adorable brothers always recognized her and called her by name.  I assumed I wouldn’t like their music, but I assumed wrong.  Proof of Your Love is a beautiful song based on 1 Corinthians 13:1.  I heard it last week while riding in my car and remembered how much I love it.

Now for some movies.

The Free State of Jones starring Matthew McConaughey:

The Free State of Jones is one of my favorite historical dramas based on a true story, and of course I love it because Matthew McConaughey is in it!

Amazon Prime Video:  Click HERE to start your free Amazon Prime trial.

Mother India narrated by Rebecca St. James:

Mother India is a documentary about the lives of 25 abandoned or orphaned children living along the railways.

Noble starring Deirdre O’Kane, Sarah Greene, and Brendan Coyle:

As soon as I saw that Brendan Coyle (star of Downton Abbey) was in this film, my interest was piqued to watch Noble.  It’s another true story based on the life and work of Christina Noble, who leaves Ireland to work with oppressed children in Vietnam in a late 1980’s.

The Tenant of Wildfell Hall starring Toby Stephens, Rupert Graves, and James Purefoy:

The Tenant of Wildfell Hall is a one-season period television drama by the BBC, based on the book by the same name by Anne Brontë.  Worth the watch!

That’s it for this month’s favorite finds and movie recommendations.  I hope you enjoyed it!  Let me know what you thought in the comments below.  Thanks for visiting!

I don’t own a television but have been pet sitting for a friend and have taken advantage of his extensive station subscription to catch some really good movies. One of them was The Free State of Jones. I agree with you that it is well worth watching. I also agree that one of the reasons it is well worth watching is the fact that it stars Matthew McConaughey. You may not recognize him, though, with all that facial hair and longer black, greasy head hair. This was a piece of history about which I was totally unaware. Very interesting.

I ordered two of these pillows from Amazon. Thank you!

  3. Oh, love For King and County and I’m always delighted when I learn of someone else who likes that kind of music. Most people I know listen to Country or Classic Rock, which is great, but I find so much more encouragement in “my Jesus music.” 🙂

The pillows are cute, cute, and we are planning to go to a movie tonight, like a date night, outside of the house. Amazing! 🙂 Will have to keep your suggestions in mind though, for those stay at home date nights.

Have a great rest of your weekend!

  4. thx for the tip Angie! just bought the pillows and a few others…very cute farmhouse🤗
