Cutting Board Lazy Susan Makeover
Do you have a list of thrift store items that you’re always on the lookout for? I do. And a cutting board is always on the top of the list.
On a recent thrift store trip, I hit the jackpot!
Three cutting boards were just sitting there like they knew I was coming in!
One is a lazy Susan. That’s the one I gave a makeover to first.
Stay tuned for some tips to make your own!
Lazy Susan Cutting Board Before
It had what looked like shellac on it. It took a lot of sanding to remove that. There was one spot that didn’t come off.
Here it is after one coat of wood stain. I added another coat to make it darker.
I knew right away what I wanted to do with it.
It had life on the farm calling out to me!
After cutting it all apart, I figured out where I wanted all the pieces to go.
Next, I waxed the wood and placed the bottom transfer layer of the barn. All the pieces are numbered and have registration marks, so lining up each layer is easy.
The top transfer layer really made the barn pop and come to life.
Now for the words and windmill.
First, I did the windmill. The tape is there because I chalked over the registration marks. They don’t show in the photo, but I could see them.
Here’s where that tape came in handy.
After lining up the registration marks over the ones on the tape, I could remove the tape, then chalk everything in white paste.
Drum roll …
It’s available in my shop HERE, but I won’t be sad if it doesn’t sell!

Love your Farm Board.
That board looks just like the wooden top I removed from my TV trays of which are still sitting around with no9thing done to them except collecting dust. I really need to do something with them instead of them collecting dust.
Thank Colleen! You should try Chalk Couture. It’s so easy to make everything prettier with the transfers.
I will never look at an ugly cutting board the same! Love this! I just linked up at Talk of the Town.. woudl love if you would consider linking up at Tuesday Turn About! Thanks for being such a gracious hostess, Angie!
