Make an adorable Life Is Better with a Dog Leash Hanger and pet photo display. Two easy project ideas for anyone who loves their dog(s)!
Since most businesses and parks are closed, there really isn’t any place to go. So when the boredom gets unbearable, I take Chica for a walk.
She’s always happy when I’m bored
Since I already had a wood plaque, I decided to make a cute sign that doubles as a leash hanger.
Here’s how I made it.
STEP 1:
Paint or stain the wood.
STEP 2:
Choose your design and cut apart.
There are two Life Is Better designs, a dog and cat. But for this project, I chose the dog design since cats aren’t walked on leashes.
STEP 3:
Use a squeegee to apply chalk paste in whatever color you want for just the words, “Life is better.”
STEP 4:
Once that part is dry, add the bones and words directly under it and then let dry again.
STEP 5:
Now, add “dog” under that. You could also add the dog shape, but I didn’t. You’ll see why in the next step.
STEP 6:
Next, add the paw prints under the word “dog.”
STEP 7:
The final step is adding a hook between the paw prints and a hanger on the back.
Life Is Better with a Dog Leash Holder Supplies:
Life Is Better with a Dog transfer
Wood Plaque (9″ x 12″)
Paint or wood stain
Chalk Paste (your choice of colors)
I also made this wooden framed art using the same transfer but in different colors.
Both finished projects are available in my Etsy shop.
Here are the examples of both, Life is Better with a Cat and the dog shown on Sylvie frame chalkboards.
