Learn to make a Feathered Friends Rustic Birdhouse Wooden Tote for use as a planter, paper towel holder or anywhere a pretty and adorable wood tote would be useful!
I finished one recently and I love how it turned out!
For my tote, I used the Feathered Friends collection adhesive stencils.
There are three to choose from in the collection and I used all three.
The Rustic Birdhouse for the ends Bless Our Nest and Birds and Branch for the sides
Make your own Feathered Friends Rustic Birdhouse Wooden Tote:
Feathered Friends Rustic Birdhouse Wooden Tote Supplies Used:
- Pine Boards
- 1″ diameter wood dowel
- thumbscrews (1/4″ x 20 x 1″)
- T nuts brad hole (1/4″ x 20″ x 5/16″)
- Wood Stain – I always use Early American
- Rustic Birdhouse Transfer
- Bless Our Nest Transfer
- Birds and Branch Transfer
- Black and White Chalk Paste
- Squeegee
First, cut all the wood pieces and sand any rough edges.
Next, wax the wood with clear wax. Buff each piece well.
Have the other supplies ready to use.
After that, put the design on all of the pieces with Chalk Paste and let them dry.
Next, he uses his Kreg jig (affiliate link) to drill pocket holes in them so the screws are hidden.

The last step is staining the whole tote and letting it dry.
Here’s the end result!
It’s available in my Etsy shop HERE.
The assembly is the same on every wood tote make. If you’d like to make a wood tote for yourself, you’ll find my tutorial HERE.
I also used the Rustic Birdhouse stencil to make a hanging wall decor on a lightweight wood cutout which can be purchased Here.
These were such fun projects!
