Little Cottage Bucket

On my long list of things I love,
somewhere near the top would be old galvanized buckets.
Actually, I love galvanized anything, but I love
that buckets can do more than sit and look pretty –
they are useful at the same time.
This old bucket had plenty of rust inside,
but was surprisingly free of rust on the outside,
so I decided to give it a shabby cottage makeover.
Here’s how it looked to start.
See all that rust inside?
I dry brushed some cottage white paint inside and outside.
Then, I added a 100 year old photo from a 1912 college yearbook.
I absolutely love the pose these women are in.
Some old hand-crocheted lace trim tied to the handle
gives it such a sweet cottage look.
It’s ready to be filled with some spring flowers.
These yearbook pages are such a wonderful glimpse
back in time.  I love using them to craft with.
As I was taking photos, this
itsy, bitsy spider decided to get in on a shot.
I’m no fan of spiders, but I did
think it looked like something out of
a Beatrix Potter book, sitting on this pail.
Have a blessed Easter!
