Visual Feast

I readily admit that I’m easily distracted,
but when I’m grocery shopping,
I just want to get in and out as quick as
possible, so I am usually pretty focused.
But, when I ran in the store a few days ago,
just to pick up a few things needed for dinner,
I got WAY distracted.
Maybe it’s spring fever, or I had
White Wednesday on the brain,
but pretty foods just seemed to leap
off the shelves and into my cart.
Just look at these sweet little pasta nests!
This little bird seems to like
her nest resting on tarnished silver.
But, then again, crazed ironstone
makes a lovely nesting spot as well.
Bunches in a primitive wooden bowl.
Delicious!
So, did I get back on task after finding the pasta nests?
Heck no!  I tried, but failed.
I needed some cooking oil, but got further distracted
by white chocolate chips instead.
Why did I not notice how pretty they are before?

If the bowl was big enough,
I’d just lay down in it.
Knowing I only had a few items on my
list, I didn’t even get a cart, but my arms
were starting to fill up.
Just as I got the the cash register and was
plunking my items down to pay,
I found these little works of art.
If they wouldn’t melt, I’d frame them.
ahhhh……
$1.99 for a box of bliss.
Expensive for 9 cookies, but cheap entertainment.
Don’t worry, once I got done having fun with them,
I did let my kids empty the plate and eat them.
Empty plates are pretty too.
Hope you have a playful day today!

  1. Hmmm… looks YUMMIE!
    and Pretty.

I recently bought homemade noodles/pasta at the Farmers Market (recent like October) …he he. Anyway– it came in little nests like that!
Made it easy to know the portion size too
