A More Inspiring Workspace

I couldn’t be more thrilled that our
new home has an outbuilding to house my business
and all the “stuff” that goes with it.
It has this great space with a workcounter to do
my packing & shipping on
and cubbies below to hold the boxes & supplies.
But, I’m sure you noticed that my
view will be less than scenic while working.
Someone had more fun with spraypaint
and the old door attached to the wall
had seen better days.
Packing and shipping is drudgery enough,
without staring at pure ugly while I work,
so, I stayed up until the wee hours of the morning {again}
to give myself a more inspiring workspace.
I used a  stack of receipts from a 1940’s
Grocery/Hardware Store
and pages from a 1940’s Ledger Book
to cover the door.
The ledger book had pages showing hours logged by a painter.
Apparently he earned $1 an hour
to paint a parsonage.
I mounted the metal clip file from
the Security Account Register as a place
to hang notes, photos & inspiration.
Rusty, old, square peg nails
make perfect pegs to hang supplies on.
Some old rulers “frame” up the edges.
Can’t forget a clock & some spectacles.
And a rusty old tool box offers more storage.
And the job is done!
Little by little, I’ll be showing you
the stages of converting this outbuilding
into a cozy, efficient office space.
