With New Years & Valentines Day
just around the corner,
today I thought I’d share
some antique postcards
you may want to print and use
in your home decor or scrapbooking.
just around the corner,
today I thought I’d share
some antique postcards
you may want to print and use
in your home decor or scrapbooking.
I like to use old paper when printing vintage images,
so they look authentically old.
I’ve found several old scrapbooks with unused pages,
so they are perfect for images like this.
Not only is the front of this
New Year Postcard absolutely wonderful,
The back of it is equally endearing.
It was written by “Amanda” in 1923,
to her “Dear Sister”, named Rosa.
It was sent from Illinois to Colorado,
but somehow made its way back to Illinois,
where I bought it in an antique store!
The copyright date on this sweet
Valentines Day postcard is 1910.
Here’s the cancelled stamp from the back –
Love old stamps too!
Even though a postcard can no longer
be mailed for just a penny,
wouldn’t it be nice to turn these images
into postcards you can send out
to your loved ones?
Who knows – 100 years from now,
someone may hold it in their hands
and love seeing your writing and the
cancelled stamp on the back!
Email is great, but it just can’t replace
a hand-written message and a cancelled stamp!
Enjoy!!
I can frequently be found visiting these parties.

Due to unethical websites stealing content, I can no longer provide a full RSS feed. I work too hard to produce original and inspiring content to have it stolen by others. Thank you for your understanding – I appreciate each one of you that take time out of your day to visit Knick of Time!!
Hi Angie, I agree that you can’t replace the handwritten note. I also love old postcards and letters and both of yours are wonderful. Thanks for sharing this at the Open House party and Happy New Years.
Hugs,
Sherry
Angie – I have just started to collect old postcards. Not only are the pictures great, but the handwriting on the back is just exquisite. They each have their own story. The hunt is on for more. Thanks for sharing a few of yours.
I was just dropping by to wish you a Happy New Year and thank you for visiting my place and your special comments. I look forward to engaging more with you in 2012. Cheers SpecialK XoXo

More fabulous images, Angie! Don’t you just love reading the sentiments penned on vintage ephemera? In a way, it’s like being transported back in time. 😉
Thanks for linking to Time Travel Thursday each week. I love having you join the fun.
I hope you have a blessed New Year!
