I had boards that were long and narrow like this image, so I picked that one to make a sign from.
Here’s the image after I edited it using Photoshop. To use it with your Silhouette, just save this image to your computer, then open it in your Silhouette and click on the “trace” function. You will end up with funny lines inside the letters, but that part gets removed when you use it as a stencil anyway.
3. Now lay down the inner part of the arrow.
4) Insert the inside part of the two “A”‘s and the “R”.
5). Make sure you have the stencil well adhered to the board, then use a foam roller, with a very light coat of royal blue paint on it, and go over the whole image. (Do not get any paint on the rest of your board – outside the arrow – it’s best to mask that part off first).
6) Paint the lower half royal blue.
7). Paint the upper half red (I used Brick Red).
Don’t worry if you get a little bit of bleed around the letters. I touched mine up with a tiny paintbrush and the white paint. It doesn’t have to be perfect though.
You can stop at that point and just wax or seal it, but I opted to distress mine and age it a bit, which also helps to make any paint bleed less noticeable.
Blessings,
Angie
