Antique Wooden Worktable

Yesterday, I showed you some of the auction finds that I’m selling, but here’s the swoon-worthy guy I’m keeping.

I really wasn’t looking to buy any large items at the auction, because my house is maxed out and big pieces are too difficult to ship, but I couldn’t pass this worktable up.

It is definitely work-worn, and well-weathered…and that’s the way I like it.

He was coated in years worth of dirt when I brought him home, but he cleaned up nicely.  It was kind of like when my son spent the summer doing construction work.  He walked in the door tired, filthy and smelling bad, but after a shower – his cheeks glowed from spending his days outdoors.  This old table has that glow.

He’s going to live out his golden years with me…getting fussed over a little.  He’s earned it.

Don’t hate me…but I only paid $4 for him.

  1. Boy when that started I was expecting one heck of an opinion on something, but by the time I was done I was thinking about some rugged handsome dude carrying me away on a horse!

  2. Oh, Angie, I had to laugh cuz I totally agree with you! And I’m even eying the new man in your life….I’m jealous and I like him! 😉

  3. Oh my! What a HUNK! You did great finding him and the price was amazing! Looks good in your home…that’s where he should live!

  4. O, I’d keep that “man” aka table for myself too! And yes, men in skinny jeans is wrong…for me anyway!

  5. I’m with you on the skinny jeans on men. Your table is fabulous and looks stunning against the white beadboard! $4?!!!!

  6. Gorgeous!!

  7. No, that awesome looking table would not wear skinny jeans if he were a man! Love it and loved reading and agreeing with your opinion!

  8. You keep dishing out those opinions, Angie – couldn’t agree more – and the table is absolutely gorgeous (as well as a real bargain). It so deserves an owner like you to cherish it in its old age.

  9. An awesome deal ! Four dollars ?! WOW ! I wanna shop where YOU go! I’m of the same opinion on men, Angie. I had a waiter yesterday at lunch that was mistaken for a woman by two of my friends. Give me the Marlboro Man !

  10. Wow. You really get some good deals and this table is amazing! I certainly don’t blame you for buying it and keeping it all to yourself. At least we get to see your lovely pictures of it (to swoon over!). 🙂

  11. I can’t even tell you how much I LOVE LOVE LOVE that table. OMGOODNESS PERFECT> I would of sooooo loaded that puppy up in my car. beautiful

  12. He’s a keeper, for sure! Your tables a beautiful piece and a steal at four bucks.
I have three manly sons, so I agree with you all the way, Angie.

  13. As a man I will tell you this… I would never, ever, ever put on a pair of those skinny jeans! Gag! I do have what is considered these days as a woman’s profession and I love to do crafts, however; I also do the yard work and fix up the house inside and out especially if it’s on the “honey do list” so I have a tan (a farmer’s tan). I guess I am good to go, LOL!

  14. Got so busy talking about myself that I forgot to say how much I absolutely love that table, love it!

  15. Fantastic table! And I tend to share your opinions about men….no worries here!

    $4? Seriously?

  16. Oh my gosh I am in love. I wouldn’t have passed this up either. Something like this can always find a good place to call home. ~ Lisa

  17. Wonderful table Angie and so perfect for your home. Makes it even better that you only paid $4.00 for it. Great presentation and pictures. You will also enjoy it for photos.

  20. Clever girl – you made me giggle at the table not wearing skinny jeans…
I like manly men, too, who know how to work hard and enjoy it. And I love your table for all the same reasons you do.
