Being snowed in for the last several days has given me lots of time to be productive and I’ve brought home bunches of “stuff” from auctions & thrift stores recently, including a plank of antique barn wood and a bunch of antique bread pans. I love turning bread pans into wall bins, and the barn wood was the perfect backing to connect them to.
It is classic barn red, and the wood is wonderfully aged.
I love the “folded” edges look that antique bread pans have, and the “well-baked” patina.
I think wall bins like this are perfect to use as spice racks in the kitchen, but I really love just using them to display pretty things, like old books and cotton thread…
and beautiful ironstone bowls.
I’ve got loads more projects lined up to work on. I’m totally ready for winter to be over, but if we get snowed in again, I guess I’ll just enjoy more productive time!
Blessings,
Love Love Love! I need to make some bins for my home office and I might steal your idea!
Thanks,
Very cool. These would be fun outdoor planters too.
Wow, what a wonderful Idea.. greets from switzerland… i love your blog!
Angie this is so cute! I love it – now I’m going to be obsessing about finding some old bread pans! So ready for this snow to melt and garage sale season to be here!
I can’t believe I passed up on some old and very baked bread pans some months ago. Your bin unit looks great, Angie!
Hugs,
Julia
I’ve been seeing this on Pinterest and am madly in love with it! As I’m sure are the 100 or so other pinners who pinned it. Great look – rustic chic!
