Last weekend, I came across the first yard sale of the season. It was a small one, and didn’t have much that interested me, but I did bring home this lovely garden statue of what looks to be a Greek woman pouring water from a jug.
She has a lot of wear from being out in the elements, but she reminded me of images from a Jeanne de’Arc Living magazine. I’ve listed her in my shop here, but my question is, do think she needs a makeover with some some layered paint, or would you leave her as-is? I think she’s lovely, but realize she may look too weathered for some people’s taste. I’d love to hear your opinion!
I also finished a few new chalkboards this week This one was made from the top of an antique accent table. It was one I had decoupaged several years ago, but I don’t have anyplace to use it, so it’s just been sitting in my basement . I love the shape, so it seemed like a good candidate to become a unique chalkboard. It’s available here.
I also converted an oak cabinet door into a chalkboard. I left the hinges on it, so they can be used to hang it. It’s available in my shop here.
Blessings,
Angie

I think she looks great all chippy and weathered.
She is perfect just like she is. I love her. That time-worn look can never be duplicated.
You are brave to ship her.

I would leave her as she is……..the more chippy the better!!!!!
She’s beautiful just like she is.
I think she looks wonderful, she is already chippy.
I love the old chippy statue….and chalk boards. They add so much charm to your home.
She’s perfect!
Oh my! Is she ever gorgeous just like she is ~ what a find!!!
I think the statue is a beautiful piece! What a great find.
What a sweet chalkboard! It looks like giant parentheses 🙂

Cute chalkboards! I love your beautiful statue and would leave her just the way you found her. She’s weathered to perfection.
Oh she’s gorgeous…LOVE the patina, you can’t get that from a paint can! Great chalkboards, too!
I have 2 of the statues one pouring water to her left and the other to her right. They have been inside for 55+ years so no weathering. I would like a ball park amount to charge for them on Ebay or a garage sale.
Gigi – did you sell them?
Yes they sold.
I read this paragraph completely on the topic of the comparison of most recent
and earlier technologies, it’s awesome article.
