If you’ve been looking for
cable knit sweaters or glass jars in thrift stores
and noticed that their supply seems unusually low…
It was me.
I bought them all.
cable knit sweaters or glass jars in thrift stores
and noticed that their supply seems unusually low…
It was me.
I bought them all.
I am seriously hooked on
creating these cozy sweater candle holders
out of sweaters and glass fish bowls, jars and cups.
They are quick, and fun and so darn
cozy with candlelight inside!
Here are my latest creations
(which are available in my Etsy shop).
This is the first one I created
(actually, I made 2 and both have sold).
This guy is manly!
He’s in a chunky cable knit sweater
with a flannel scarf – an outdoor kinda guy.
His lady friend is feminine!
She’s in a delicate sweater with silky crochet trim
and a strand of pearls around her neck.
You go girl!
Here’s her shapely vase friend.
Here’s a good-looking fella!
He cuts quite a fine figure with his
dapper scarf draped around his shoulders.
These candle covers really are easy to create,
and you all you need is
a cast-off sweater, a glass container and some glue sticks.
You can personalize them by adding jewelry,
buttons, scarf remnants, etc.
Wouldn’t it be fun to make one
representing each member of your family?!!
Hmmm…I may need to do that next!
If you are already too busy this
holiday season to make some,
come visit my shop – all these fine folks
are waiting for you there!
I can frequently be found visiting these parties.

these are absolutely Fabulous — but the one with a pearl necklace — just over the top!!!!! LOVE IT!!! sending hugs and wishes for a fabulous and wonderful weekend…
These are great! I love each one! The manly one with the scarf looks so warm and cozy! I also love the pearls! Amazing! Merry Christmas!
Those candle holders are darling. Nice idea.
Angie-
I love your 2nd batch! The personalities are so flippin cute! Love the scarf, but I love, love, love the pearls!
I am hoping that since I live in Utah, my trip to the thrift store tomorrow will be profitable!
Thanks for letting me know that you make more. So, so excited to try these now!
I am so going to check out every corner of your blog. You could probably call me a stalker…the good kind…of course.
Happy day!

LOVE these, got to try some. Dying to make a trip to club GW.
Such a great idea Angie! They look very calming 🙂
I will have to try this too. Thanks for the inspiration!
These are so doggone cute!! A great way to use up those sweaters that we don’t like but that have these great patterns! Love the lady with the pearl necklace and the fact that candles can be made “masculine” this way!
I must of been in the store right after you, because I didn’t find any. They are all so unique, but I love the one with the pearls handing. By the way I love the sweater patters you found. Thanks so much for sharing your inspiration over at Sunday’s Best! Make sure you come back now.
What a unique idea! They look so, well, ‘WARM’!!! I’d have never thought to do such a thing to a candle! So glad you came by for Pearls and Lace Thursday!
Blessings, Doni
Love your sweater candle holders! The one with the scarf is so cute 🙂
Ok…looks like I will be visiting the local goodwill on my lunch hour today…hopefully you don’t live in Indiana, because I would like to find a sweater or two! These are adorable! I have been seeing them here and there…but yours have personalities….I like that!
Momentarily I will be your newest follower.
Stop by for a visit sometime!
What a wonderfully creative way to repurpose those old sweaters! I love these! They would make great gifts — all winter long! 🙂 Looks like I need to make a Goodwill run…. lol!
xoxo laurie
These are adorable! My favorite is the one with the pearls. Thanks for sharing at my Show & Tell party.
