Super Sleuth is on the Case

I’ve been pulling my hair out
since last night, trying to figure out
where my scale disappeared to.

I don’t much care about my own weight,
but I use it to weigh larger packages
that I ship for my shop.

Normally, it’s kept out in my office,
where I do my packing & shipping,
but my office has been so cold
that I brought it in the house.

When my youngest son heard me frantically complaining
about my missing scale, he offered
to take on
The Case of the Missing Scale.

He couldn’t start his sleuthing without
first donning the garb of a detective,
and  he loves this costume
that my oldest son used a few
years ago for Halloween.

It took him about 1/2 an hour
to locate my missing scale,
{sitting under a trash bag, outside our front door –
which I had walked by 50 times},
but he succeeded!
I’ll admit – his pay was pitiful.
I told him I’d give him 75 cents
if he located it.

Once that case was solved,
his sister hired him for
The Case of the Missing Birthday Gift.

You see, she has a Christmas Eve
birthday, so we have to separate out
which gifts are for Christmas,
and which ones are for her birthday.
We don’t celebrate her birthday until Jan.

Well, my bedroom looks like a
volcano erupted in the middle of it,
and somehow I lost a gift that my
sister sent for her birthday.

Super Sleuth was on the case
and quickly located the missing gift under my bed
{which is a scary place to go prowling right now!}.
This time he was paid in Jelly Belly jelly beans
from her secret stash.

Wow…he may have a future career here.

I think he looks so bloomin’ cute in this costume,
I had to have him pose for some photos.

Blessings,

I can frequently be found visiting these parties.
