Every so often, you see something
that you know has a story of its own…
and stories need to be told.
I’m sure this gal has a story of her own.
I wonder how many sights she’s seen,
traveling dusty country roads or along city streets.
I can only image. Here’s my version
of the end of her story.

She’s traveled more roads than she can recall,
and the miles have taken a toll on her.

Her beauty has faded,

her strength is failing,

She’s lost a little of the pep in her step,

and she can’t get around like she used to.

but she’s enjoyed every bit of the journey,
and in her heart, she’s still a young gal in the prime of life.

She knows the time has come to roll off the path,
and just rest for the remainder of her years,

but she takes a deep breath,
gets back on the path,
and resumes her journey,
because she knows she has just enough strength left…
to ride off into the sunset.
What a wonderful ride.

Beautiful spot for the old gal to be photographed. I see you use that often, is it the road your live on or your driveway? I might try something like that that for my bigger pieces, as your photos always look great outside.
I’ve been on the hunt for a bicycle just like that for our daughter. LOVE it!! I found a child’s totally rusted out version (you’d love it), but it’s at an antique shop and marked waaay too high. I’ll keep looking.

Perfect! I’m charmed by the bike, the road, the gate, the field, the flowers in her basket, the setting sun and her story. I always love a story and you obliged. Bravo!
