Sonday – Horsin’ Around

Last week, a local farmer came and mowed our pasture
and baled the hay for us, so my daughter took the opportunity
to let her miniature horse burn some energy by taking her on a
flying drive through the freshly-mowed area.
Her quarter horse decided to get in on the game
and chased them around until he got bored.

My youngest son spotted her and wanted a ride…
but he had to catch up with her first.

This horse may be little…but she can really move.

Eventually he caught up and was able to jump on board…

and his sister let him take the reigns for a while.

I was in the middle of taking photos for my shop
listings when I spotted their fun in the pasture,
so I had my camera handy to snap a few photos from the top of the hill.

Days like this remind me of why I thank God I’m a country girl…
and my kids are country kids.

Whether you’re a city girl or a country girl,
I hope your day is richly blessed,

Angie

Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the Lord your God will set you high above all nations of the earth.  And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the Lord your God:  “Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall you be in the country”….Deuteronomy 28:1-3

  1. Oh, to live in the country. That is one of my dreams. But I thank God for being able to spend the summers in the country. And give my children the opportunity to explore the nature etc.
We had our hay baled last week too.
Hope you have a great day my friend.
    Greetings from Finlad.

  2. What a beautiful scene and memories! You are blessed to live in such a beautiful place! I’m grateful today for the break in the heat here . . . sitting out in my gazebo enjoying a strong, cool breeze before church! Have a blessed day!

  3. The country is where I would love to live, although my parents left their family farm and moved to the city for employment when I was a child. My heart belongs there but we are still city dwellers. We visit family often in the country so I do get to enjoy it sometimes. The children look like they love their horses, and your scripture is so fitting.

  5. Great photos! 🙂 And what a cute little mini your daughter has! There’s a miniature horse farm a couple miles down the road from us. All the mares are foaling right now and my son and I frequently stop to admire the wee babies. Enjoy your Sunday, Angie!
