I love fall.
I love the brisk air, I love the changing leaves,
I love pumpkins, and flannel shirts.
I love apple cider, apple crisp and caramel apples,
I love apple cider, apple crisp and caramel apples,
(you heard that “but” coming, didn’t you?)
I’m not FALLing for it this year.
I’m simply not ready for fall.
We spent our whole summer remodeling the kitchen
and I really wanted at least one month between the completion
of that project and back-to-school time.
We are a homeschool family, so fall days get filled with schoolwork,
and basketball practice, and our homeschool co-op, etc., etc., etc.,
and I’m just not ready to give up the summer days
that don’t have that kind of schedule.
My two oldest kids are in college, so I feel like I
barely get to see them during the school year.
I wanted at least another month to just relax and enjoy summer,
without feeling like a slave to the mess in our kitchen.
I wanted to do more fun summer activities like camping, and fishing,
and seeing more drive-in movies (we saw one),
and going on a picnic, and the list goes on and on.
I’ve got about a week left before the two older kids start college
and my two younger ones have to hit the books at home.
Do you think I can squeeze a little more summer fun into one week?
Doggonit…I’m going to try!
I’ll start falling in love with fall again after that.
Blessings,
Angie

Come spend a week, no, day here in AZ in July and August and trust me, you will be ready!!
Summer is my favorite, and it’s definitely going too fast!! I hope fall holds off a while longer!

With you on that. I love summer. Fall not so much! I read posts where people are so excited and wish that I could be one of those but just feel a little icky when its dark and raining all the time. So I will hope for a little longer as well… Enjoy your weekend!
I’ve got two weeks left before school starts again. Let’s enjoy what’s left!!

I am a summer fan!…but I can handle fall pretty good. (Let’s not talk about winter)
Even though we have had a constant 106 most of the Summer, I’m not ready for Fall either! Even though Fall is my favorite season, I like Summer days and am not wishing them away.
I totally agree, Angie! We have had the most beautiful summer in Nova Scotia this year. Just gorgeous. I just KNOW you can squeeze some more time out of summer too. I looked at my flags, and summery decor today and said to myself, “NO!! It is staying right where it is”. For a while longer anyway… 😉
I so agree–not ready for fall! Goodwill has put out their halloween stuff and I told them to put it back. I don’t want school to start either. They are saying that the weather is going to be sunny for at least another month so I am planning to just ignore Fall:)
I am so in the mood for Fall!! My last baby started school this week. Bring on cooler weather!!
I love fall too, and with our summer temps being in the 100’s, the cooler weather will be nice. and the thing I liked about homeschooling is being able to change my scheduale for things like vacations.

I’m glad to be out of the heat of July but I really would like August to drag out a little slower! ~ Maureen
