You all know the soft spot I have for broken “junk”. I seem to have a special knack for crossing paths with old, broken chairs. A few weeks ago, when my husband and I went to a neighborhood yard sale, I spotted a pretty old rocking chair. Unfortunately, the seat was broke. I finally have done something with all but 1 of the broken chairs in my workshop, so I could clear some space to actually work on other projects, and really didn’t need to bring another one home…but I’m a sucker for broken chairs and I really liked the pretty padded tapestry back.
My husband cut the back off from the seat and rocker base and I added an antique coat hook to it. I can envision a simple straw hat hanging from it, or a basket of flowers. I just love being able to salvage something broken. I kept the rocker and seat part and hope to eventually find a new use for those parts as well. The rocker coat rack is available HERE.
Blessings,
Angie

Wow, this is pure delight. What a clever way to utilize a part of a chair.
What a cute idea. I love it when you can find a use for something that one would never expect. Great job- xo Diana
that is wonderful. add a few plain or fancy straight pins and this can also be a memo/photo board. I love how you think outside the box. Just think of the stories that rocker could share, mothers rocking their babies to sleep, grammas on the porch napping…
