My mom, sister and I have hit a lot of antique stores, yard sales, and a flea market in the last week, so I wanted to show you some of my favorite finds.
This antique singer sewing machine and stand are gorgeous.
The artwork on these old machines is amazing. I can’t understand why today’s sewing machine manufacturers don’t do something this beautiful on the machines they produce.
Only 1 drawer has a pull on it, but I think a glass knob would look beautiful against the pretty wood.
I plan to turn the base into a nightstand for my bedroom and will be making the machine, the beautiful oak cover and drawers available in my shop.
If this old school wall clock doesn’t sell in my shop, I’ll happily keep it in my home.
Awwwww. Yeah, that’s what I said too, when I spotted this little red tricycle in an antique store. Again, I won’t mind keeping it at all if it doesn’t sell. It’s a sturdy little thing. It reminds me of when my two oldest kids were really young and my son would sit and peddle and my daughter would stand on the back and get a ride.
I love the shape of this old metal oil can pitcher.
I picked up this lovely old mirror at a yard sale. Even though the gesso has some chips, I love it. If it’s not sold by the time my bedroom is remodeled, it’s a keeper.
I found this old Room 36 hotel key with the key fob in an antique store. An internet search yielded the information that the hotel was opened in 1919 and is on the National Register of Historic Places. It underwent a major renovation in 1999. Too bad most hotels use credit card-like keys these days, instead of amazing old keys like this one, but they’d probably have to constantly change the locks when people don’t want to turn such a cool key back in when they check out.
I love old fruit baskets because they are as useful as they are nice looking. I especially love the wood and wire handles on these 4 I found at the flea market.
I brought home a tin can full of these antique square peg nails. They are perfect for peg racks.
This is a mid-century copy older and would have been used to hold a page needing to be typed. Someone added a metal clip to it, to secure a book or paper.
You know I’m a sucker for old chairs, and 4 more of them made their way home with me.
I couldn’t pass up a geography textbook from 1885. It always amazes me when I find something made out of paper that has survived so long. Later I’ll share some projects with old maps I’ve finished.
Not only was it filled with beautifully aged maps, it had loads of the prettiest illustrations.
A pair of anything means the beginning of a collection to me, so I couldn’t pass up these wonderfully aged meat cleavers.
I even found an old unicycle! It doesn’t have a tire on it, although that would be easy to replace, but I love old metal wheels, the wood block peddles, and that red seat sealed the deal.
I also got 5 old seed bags and a bunch of odds and ends, which will get incorporated into other projects eventually. I finally had to stop looking, because I was finding too many great things!

You did find some neat stuff Angie. I have a red level almost like that. Never thought about making it into a coat rack!
Lot’s of great stuff but my favorite is that hotel key, I just love it! We had a unicycle at one point when I was a kid and I think the one you found is so fabulous, you just don’t see those anymore.
You hit the gold mine. So many beauiful things. I just adore the old sewing machine.
Oh! I love all your great finds, lucky you! That key is fantastic, the nails…the school clock….I like everything!
Besos!
Wow what fantastic finds! I have NEVER seen one of those machines with a cover like that!! And you’re right — sewing machines and most everything else manufactured today lacks the charm and style of the old stuff. Those meat cleavers are pretty creepy . . . LOL.
Did you already sell the clock or did you not list it yet?! I LOVE it and I’ve been looking for one like that… 😉
Great finds! I would love to go shopping with you. You find the neatest things.
Wow, wow and wow!!! these are amazing finds. I do have an old school clock like yours, I bought it at a yard sale about twenty-five years ago. I love it and will be sad if it ever quits running. I have had it in my kitchen ever since I brought it home. It has changed the wall that it is hanging on, but has been in our kitchen so long, that it’s become part of the family. It’s the clock that has kept us on time for work, school, church, and everything else for the last 25 years.
Thanks for sharing all of your awesome finds. So, many treasures, especial that beautiful sewing machine 🙂
You found some really eclectic things. I love the old chalkboard and your level coat rack. I’m always hunting for fun finds that are functional too!
Love all your finds- they are so cool!
Love the sewing machine! My take sewing machine is my favorite one to sew on! If you sew but have never treadled you should sew some stitches on it before you take it all apart and start to sell it off . . . you may find you really like it. These machines will last forever and sew like a dream!
Correction: my treadle (not take) sewing machine is my favorite to sew on. Auto correct got me there.
Wow…you sure snagged some interesting things! Beats the plastic toys and particle board furniture I find at yard sales!
Great picks Angie!!
you find the greatest stuff!!!

Goodness! What neat stuff! The keeper for me would absolutely be the hotel key. I LOVE that!
Boy you found some tremendous items. I just love the beauty of that sewing machine. What a tremendous piece!

I have never seen a top on an old sewing machine like thst. I wonder if all the old cabinet sewing machines like that had tops to match? Beautiful pieces.
WOW – you found lots of GREAT things! Must have been a fun weekend! Can’t wait to see what you do with some of them!
I want your life! I’m so envious of the stuff you find and the things you do with them. You’re an inspiration.
But… I have one whine… Why did you put one of those stupid ‘load and play’ movies on your blog? I hate those things. I’ve unsubscribed from a couple who have them cause they slow everything down and are just annoying (I have a really old computer and satellite internet which doesn’t help).
The pieces you found are gorgeous!
The Singer is the prettiest that I’ve ever seen! 🙂
