I love this fancy image that came from a 1919 business college booklet,
but the part that caught my attention is the “live teachers” part at the bottom of the image!
What else would they have had in 1919? I’m pretty sure there were no online classes back then, so the only alternative would have been…dead teachers?! ;0)
Anyway, I love the pretty typography and the frame around the words. I think this would make a pretty framed print in an office.

Here it is as a black and white image.

That is pretty fancy … love it though. Thanks for sharing with us. I agree, it would look nice in a office.

Live Teachers – that’s hysterical.
What did you use to paste the sheet music on your bathroom wall? Did you just use wallpaper glue? Did you glue over the top of it as well?
Gail – just good old Elmer’s glue with a little water in it. Yes, I put a top coat over it all.
Thanks so much. I bought some sheet music from you awhile back and plan on doing something similar in my bathroom. I love your blog by the way, thanks for sharing.
Shorthand — took 2 years in high school. It came in handy throughout my earlier careers and I can still use it if I want to take notes that no one else can read.
Love it. Business men supplied with office employees and live teachers!! Such a cool old graphic. Pinning to my graphics board. Thanks!
Beautiful graphic! The sign says “classes offered by mail” too, sort of what they used to call correspondence classes in the old days? I guess that’s why the “live teachers” is mentioned is my guess….thanks so much for sharing this!
