I do very little holiday decorating in my home, even at Christmas. The tree and a few other keepsake pieces are all I get out. I put just a few things out at Thanksgiving, but really don’t do anything for the rest of the holidays. It isn’t that I don’t want to, I just don’t have the time/energy/motivation, to move my regular decor away (and clean) to decorate for so many holidays.
But, when I came across this flag image inside the back cover of a 1937 atlas, I couldn’t resist doing something with it.

The flag image was glued to the back cover, so I removed the pages from the book so I could use both covers. I used spray adhesive to stick an antique hymn book page to the inside of the front cover. If you’d like to make one of your own, I’ve posted several patriotic music pages recently, like the one below. Click HERE for another one.
I added a little lace to frame around the music and a twill tape bow to finish it off.
That may be the extent of my July 4th decorating, but I like it!
The pinwheel tutorial is here.
{I appreciate it when you PIN!}
Blessings,
Angie!
I love it Angie. Hope you and your family have a wonderful 4th of July celebration.
I’m the same way, I just don’t have the mental energy to fully decorate for every holiday. But I could manage this (if I had color ink in my printer, darn it!) and I just love it! I’m saving these anyway, maybe next year? 🙂 Thanks Angie!

I needed a quick and simple idea for a last minute gathering this afternoon and this was perfect. Thank you for sharing.
I love this idea. It is very patriotic and I can’t believe that you found it on the back cover of a book. Thank you so much for posting.
