Antique Graphics Wednesday – 1895 School Primer Pages

As the kids are getting ready to head back to school and hit the books, I thought this was a good time to share some fantastic pages from an 1895 book called, “The Gospel Primer”, published by the International Tract Society. For 118 years old, this book is in wonderful condition.

I love these pages that feature a letter of the alphabet and its corresponding image of a Bible person, place or thing and a Bible verse for each one.

  7. I love it! Thank you so much for sharing.

  8. I would very much like to see a copy of the title page and copyright notice for this copy of “The Gospel Primer.” This may in fact be a very rare first edition. I believe it is the book written by James Edson White to help fund his pioneering educational and evangelistic work among Black people in Mississippi. If the publisher is the Review and Herald Publishing Association it may be a first edition. If it is the General Conference Association, it would be a second printing of that first edition which followed very closely after the first. –rgraybill44@gmail.com

    • I have the same book but mine is all Red “Suffer Little Children Come unto me” Gospel primer 1877 copyright.
