Does anyone remember those wonderful, tear-jerker commercials that used to air, with a young man leaving for college and his sad dog left behind at home, then the joyful reunion when the boy later returned home from college?
We had one of those joyful reunions over the weekend. My middle son’s birthday was Saturday, so we drove down to visit him and my oldest son (who attends the same college) and brought his dog along to see him. His dog has been his constant companion for the last 6 years and has felt a little lost ever since he left for college in August. It was so wonderful to see them together, even if just for a little while.
My parents were coming to visit us, so we met them at my sons’ college first, so they could see the older boys as well. Our visit went by fast, be we enjoyed a few meals together…
played some games…
shopped in downtown Little Rock…
discovered cool old phone booths…
snoozed…
and snoozed some more (with pooch).
It was a tear-jerker when we had to say good-bye and head back home too. I’m looking forward to their Thanksgiving break now!

Thank you for your understanding – I appreciate each one of you that take time out of your day to visit Knick of Time!!

Great time and absolutely wonderful pictures … frame worthy to hang on the wall.
I can fell the sadness as you had to leave, but what a blessing to be with them for just a short time.
Thanks for sharing your good times with your family.
Blessings,

Aaw (sniffle) What a blessing to have that time together.
I love this, Angie! Such special family times and everyone looks like they enjoyed being together again!
Oh, what a special time and fun time!! I’m sure it’s something that is to be cherished for a long time 🙂
What a wonderful time with family.
I could tell there is a bond between your son and his pooch!
Looks like the kids enjoyed seeing each other and the grand parents too!

What a wonderful, albeit all too short, weekend. Looks like everyone enjoyed it! Love the photos.
Lets start a movement to allow dogs at college!
This post made me cry too!! My oldest heads out to college in two years. She won’t miss the dog too much, but we will miss her! When my son head to college, he will probably miss the dog more than us!
Oh, I remember them. It looks like you had such a wonderful visit with your beautiful children and parents.
Beautiful moment! Had a tear jerking moment myself a couple of days ago. My aunty and her husband moved from Australia back to Sweden six years ago. Their dog, Meggie stayed in Australia and got new owners – good friends to the family. Now, my relatives are here visiting and last Sunday I got to see their old dog, Meggie – hadn’t seen her for over six years – I was amazed that she remembered me – it was a wonderful reunion! Spring greetings from Australia♥ ~Pernilla
