After delivering the counter on Saturday morning, we left for home, but ran into snow in Indiana in the afternoon. We decided to play it safe and stay in a hotel for the night.
The next day, the roads were clear, so we headed for home, but stopped at plenty of antique and thrift stores along the way, and just took our time. When we came across this old brick building in downtown, La Porte, Indiana, with MY name on it – I knew I was meant to do some shopping in that town. We ended up staying for over 3 hours and visited 3 antique stores. I was mainly looking for more enamelware and pans to create more of my tiered stands, and succeeded in finding plenty, as well as some other good stuff, which I’ll share with you later in the week.
And, of course…I had to get my photo taken with that sign. I wish I could have stayed until after dark, so I could have seen my name in lights!
It’s evening now, and we’re still driving and don’t expect to be back home until pretty late tonight, but it was totally worth it. It’ll be good to be back home though, and after 3 days of not working on a single project, I’m itching to get back to work!

Your getaway looks like SO much fun…love the photo of you with the sign! Looking forward to seeing your finds! The cabinet looks wonderful in its new home!
What fun … a get-away and shopping. Anxious to see what you bought. Love your picture with the sign.
Happy you sold the big piece of furniture and I bet the new owner is very happy to get it and that you would deliver it. How nice.
Thanks for sharing you fun time with us.
Blessings,

What sort of stuff did Angie sell? I mean if it’s your namesake hopefully it was something you’d buy.
That is so awesome that you and your husband would go out of your way to deliver a piece like that. Looks like a really fun getaway!
