Metal In the Market & Contented Momma Moments

I’m a very content momma today.  On Thursday, my husband and I drove to Arkansas, to help our college sons pack up their apartment and come home for the summer, and it’s been so nice having all 4 kids together again under my roof.  We were blessed with an absolutely gorgeous day today, and the boys jumped in and helped with yard work, and my oldest son went to town and brought home a small tree that he planted in the front yard, as a Mother’s Day gift to me.  They all left to play laser tag together this afternoon, and it just does my heart good to see them all enjoying each other’s company.  I’m keenly aware that getting to have them all together at home is a pleasure I won’t get to enjoy in the future, as they move into the next stage of their lives, so I’m relishing every moment of it now. I hope this summer drags by at a snail’s pace.  God is good and I feel so blessed.
I’ve added quite a few vintage metal items to my online shop in the last week – some I bought, but I’m also parting with a few things I’ve had for several years, and just thought it was time to make room for some new things in my house.

I had a bit of a bidding war at an auction when I bought this antique market basket a few years ago, but I was determined, and won it. You can never go wrong buying old baskets, because they earn their keep as decor that looks awesome while being useful at the same time.

I found this little egg basket at a yard sale last week, and was so tempted to keep it, but I’m really trying to scale back on the amount of stuff in our house.  I just have way too much and not enough space to go with it.

…but if it doesn’t sell, I won’t be sad.

I also found a pair of old metal flower frogs at a neighborhood yard sale.

I’ve had this beautifully tarnished old tray on a shelf in my kitchen shelf, ever since we remodeled, and it’s time to display some new things there.  I’m not sure what yet, but I’ll know when I find them!

…and another pair of well-aged metal trays that occupied the same shelf.

I removed the stained fabric from this antique lamp shade.  The original base it came on is really neat, so my husband will rewire it, and I hope to list it soon.

The patina on this sugar and creamer set is beautiful.  These would look so pretty with some flowers or succulents planted in them.

…and a gravy boat with the prettiest “figure”.

I love using connected rusty springs for dried flower displays, so I listed this group of 8 of them.

And, here’s the wheel that was under the repurposed plate display rack I showed you yesterday.

The antique milk can strainer light is still waiting to find a great home, but since the remodel of my photo studio is almost done, I may hang it in there if it hasn’t sold by then.

I hope you are having an absolutely beautiful spring and are enjoying every moment of it!
On a totally random side note – I am only 54 followers away from reaching 6,000 on my Facebook page, so if you aren’t following me there yet, I’d love it if you do so.  I often announce special sales there, that aren’t announced on the blog!  Thank you!!
Blessings,
