It Is Well With My Soul {but my brain’s another story}

Recently, a customer asked me to create one of my Amazing Grace signs for her.  I’m sure those of you who are also middle-aged will be able to relate to this (at least I hope so), but instead of making an Amazing Grace sign, I accidentally made her a “It Is Well With My Soul” sign…I have no idea why.  I wish I could say that this is a rare thing, but lately this kind of thing seems to be happening a lot.

Thankfully, I realized my mistake before I shipped it, so this sign is now available in my shop HERE.  Please tell me you can related to midlife brainlessness.  If you don’t – please just play along with it, so I don’t feel like the only dimwit around.  I know I’m biased, but I don’t think there’s a single thing I could hang in my  new {old} shed guest room that I wouldn’t love.  I think the bright whites and corrugated metal just make everything look wonderful.  I wonder if I can talk my husband into a barn remodel now?  {my mental wheels are decorating it already!}

  1. It’s not just you, Angie… I do the same type of thing now and then!

  2. Oh yes my friend I can relate! Just be lucky that you didn’t mail it first… I have to check everything I do about 10 times!
    🙂

  3. Oh my that is funny! I used to be able to blame my brain farts on pregnancy but now that baby is here I call it baby brain. LOL

  4. LOL…I so understand! And now you have another sign for your shop!

  5. I do the same type of thing more often than I really want to admit. I like to think it’s because there’s just so much going on in my brain every minute of the day, it’s bound to crash sometimes 🙂 The sign looks great, anyway!

  6. I’m with you! Once I turned 50 it hit me. Now I walk around in a brain fog most of the day and I’m sure my husband thinks I’m looney. He has no idea what it’s like. I’m glad to hear I’m not the only one, but I’m sad it is happening to you as well.

  7. Have no fear this happens to all of us once in awhile especially as Alice said, once you hit 50. I can definitely relate to that as well. Never the less the sign is beautiful and even though it wasn’t what you were after I am sure that this was made explicitly for someone whom the good Lord had in mind, that will appreciate and love it.

  8. As one dimwit to another, I hear ya loud and clear. I don’t double check anymore, like Susan I check about 10 times! And I have sent the wrong item to a buyer which was intended for another buyer before…luckily they both were understanding and sent the items to each other once received. At least you caught it! I’m sure the other sign will sell fast in your shop.
    *hugs*deb

  9. I’m only laughing, because I so get this! The brain fog has descended…. Anyway, your “mistake” is beautiful.

  10. Love the sign in you new guest quarters, so all is not lost … maybe it was meant to be as it is perfect there and I am sure your guests will love it too. I contribute my mess-ups to brain over-load.
    Hugs,
    Audrey Z. @ Timeless Treasures

  11. Ahhh . . misery SO loves company. I’m comforted to know I am not alone. We suffer together, gals. Pretty sign, Angie.
