I think our family must be going out to eat too often, because lately I keep finding inspiration for projects from paper placemats while dining out. We went out for breakfast on the day my middle son had to return to college, after Thanksgiving break. On the table were paper placemats, that had the mealtime prayers of 4 different faiths on them – you don’t see that very often, do you?
You can sort of see the place mats on the table in this family photo I snapped. My hubby is growing his “winter” beard, and every year it looks a little more Santa-ish, as he gets more white hair. When he shaves his beard, he looks like a total baby face to me, after getting used to the whiskers for a few months.
Our family doesn’t usually pray “rote” prayers, but after reading each of them, and seeing them in print, it made me really focus on the words more. I was familiar with a two of the prayers, but wasn’t familiar with the other two, but I found all of them to be very meaningful. I decided to take my place mat home and create a chalkboard printable of each of the prayers, and make them available to share.
I purposely kept them very simple looking, so the focus will be on the words. These are each sized to print on 8-1/2 x 11 paper.
