I must be listening to the wrong radio stations, because I’ve barely heard any Christmas music this week.
Hello …
It is December, right?
I thought it would be fun to have our own family Christmas family sing-along.
It sounded like great fun to me so I led off singing “We Need a Little Christmas,” but when I got to the “candles in the window and carols at the spinet” part, I looked around and realized my family had all disappeared.
I think it was my singing that drove them off.
Well Fa La La …
They may all find lumps of coal in these …
The only fireplace we have is an electric one, so I have to find alternative ways to hang our Christmas stockings each year.
The last few years, I’ve hung them on repurposed books hangers, but I wanted to do something different this year.
I didn’t want to spend money or make a new hanger that I’d need to store away when Christmas is over, so I raided my guest house for my favorite old wooden ladder.
When my mom came to visit, I decorated the room with an outdoor woodland theme, but since there’s no company staying with us now, I needed it more in our living room.
I just tacked a few sturdy nails into the steps to hang the stockings on.
We have a section of our living room wall that has a somewhat weird angle, which is just the right size for the ladder.
I added my little apple red chair, a mini tree, and a poinsettia to balance out the look on the sides of the ladder.
Oh, Joy … It is perfect!
Now, if only I could get my family into the sing-along spirit.
I’m off to do more singing and decorating!
Vaya con Dios,
This is so cute, Angie! Always fun to use a ladder for display!
