It’s Thursday and that means it’s time for another thrift store haul!
I always walk through the section of the thrift stores with wooden items first and I found a bunch of things, which is rare lately it seems.
First I found an old wooden clipboard.
Sometimes I use them to display photos and ephemera.
Other times I dress them up as seasonal decor. I haven’t decided yet what I’ll do with this one. It’s a little battered, so I’ll definitely do something to it.
If you have any ideas, I’d love to hear them.
Next I found a cutting board of sorts.
Someone did wood burning on it as a gift. It has feet on it, so I’ll do something with the other side. It will make a great trivet or plant riser.
The next thing I bought I love.
It’s a handmade wood tote. It’s tall and narrow. I’ll find a fun way to dress it up.
The last thing I found in the wood section was a small drawer front. It has a scratch that will need to be sanded out, but it’s oak so I’ll turn it into something.
Moving on to the metal section in the store, I found a vintage metal tool box or cash box.
I listed it in my Etsy shop HERE.
If it doesn’t sell, I’ll probably paint it.
It’s pretty scratched up, but I think it would be cute if painted.
What do you think?
Well, that’s it for this week’s thrift store haul. Wish me luck finding more things while I’m out of state next week. I’ll have very little room in my luggage, so anything I find will have to be very small.
Is anyone as obsessed with thrift shopping as I am? What is your absolute favorite thing you have ever found at a thrift store? Let me know in the comments below!
Vaya con Dios,
Angie
You got some great finds.
My weakness is old wooden cutting boards and rolling pins.
Like that old tool box. That can be painted up or left as is and used for potted plants.
I have an old tool box that I keep my very best paint brushes in, along with a few other paint supplies in. The old tool boxes come in handy in so many ways.
I was thing plants too Colleen. Great minds think alike!
Great finds! The cutting board is funny, I wonder why they chose to do their design on the bottom… maybe so they could still use it as a cutting board I guess?
Tania
I COULDN’T FIGURE THAT OUT EITHER TANIA, BUT i’M GLAD THEY DID SO I CAN USE THE FRONT!
I am obsessed with thrifting. So I have to limit myself, because I do not have an store to sell things in and I want to keep everything anyway. So, I only go once or twice a month if I’m good. 🙂
Have a fabulous Easter weekend!
I have to limit myself too, Kathy to thing I know I can use or sell.
Fun, fun, fun! Can’t wait to see what you do with those, Angie!
Sad there was no picture of the wood tote!
I didn’t realize I forgot it. I just added it Terri. Thank you!
How do you know a clipboard is old/vintage? I see them all the time but I’m just not sure.
Old clipboards usually have a darkened patina.
